New York, New York - After capturing the CUNYAC Community College Individual Championship in the fall for Cross Country freshman Lea Reimer (Paderborn, Germany) continued her dominance in the CUNYAC Championship, etching her name into the program record books with two first-place finishes in the women's Mile and 3000 meters on Sunday evening at The Nike Track & Field Center at The Armory. The Panthers women's team competed in the four events at the Conference Championships.
Reimer was determined to take it all against stiff competition for CUNYAC four and two-year institutions posting personal bests in the women's mile and 3000 meters with times of 5:55.59 and 12:26.51, registering the program's first-ever first place finishes in each event and earning a medal.
The Panther's excellent evening wasn't finished as Kylah Hetmeyer (Brooklyn, New York) posted two top-ten finishes in the 400 and 200 meters, clocking in with personal bests at 1:10.96 for fifth place and 31.06 for a ninth place finish. Teammate Breanna Johnson (Brooklyn, New York) also had a personal best in the 200 and 60 meters with times of 37.08 and 10.45.
The inaugural women's indoor track and field season finished on a strong note and has a ton of momentum going into year two.
