Black Picks Up CUNYAC Men’s Basketball Honorable Mention Honors For The Second Time This Season

New York, New York – BMCC men's basketball freshman guard Khalil Black (Queens, New York) picked up the second CUNYAC Men's Basketball Honorable Mention and his sixth overall Conference weekly honor of his career for his efforts during the Panthers two contests last week. Black has received Conference honors for the second straight week after picking up his fourth CUNYAC Rookie of the Week nod last week.

The Queens, New York native continued his outstanding Rookie season for the Panthers men's basketball program, closing out the regular season averaging 15 points per game, shooting 12-of-27 from the field (44.4 percent), and 5.5 rebounds per game in the Panther's two matchups last week.

Black recorded the fourth 20-point game of his career last Tuesday against Hostos Community College and then missed his 16th straight double-figure game by two points eight points in a 64-44 victory over Bronx Community College.

Black leads the Panthers in three-pointers made (50) and three-pointers attempted (120), connecting on two or more three-pointers in 16 of his 25 games this season. His 50 three-pointers are 12th all-time in program history and 10th single-season history.

The Institute for Health Professions H.S. product is also second on the Panthers in total points (367), scoring average (14.7), field goals made (127), field goal attempted (301), free throws made (63), free throws attempted (83), and steals (36).
