New York, New York – After posting her
fourth straight double-double and team-leading fifth of the season with a team-high 20 points and a game-best tied 10 boards for her 11th double-double of her career in her lone matchup against Kingsborough Community College last week sophomore Emily Kennedy (Brooklyn, New York) picked up CUNYAC Honorable Mention honors as announced by the Conference this afternoon. Kennedy grabs her second weekly accolade of the season after
receiving her first-ever Conference Player of the Week accolade in early November. She has seven weekly career conference honors after five Rookie of the Week honors last year.
Kennedy registered her eighth career 20-point scoring performance last week against the Wave in CUNYAC action at home while also handing out a team-best five assists. Kennedy has now scored in double figures in 12 of her last 14 games and recorded doubles in five of her six games this season. Seven of those eight double-doubles date back to the 2022-23 season.
Kennedy currently leads BMCC in
eleven different categories with 125 points, 20.8 points per game, 39 field goals made, 92 field goals attempted, 46 free throws made, 71 free throws attempted, 55 rebounds, 9.2 rebounds per game, 31 assists, 5.2 assists per game, 26 steals, and 4.3 steals per game.
She is sixth nationally with 5.2 assists per game and 10th in scoring average with 20.8 points per game.
The Panthers are back in action at home this Thursday against ten-time CUNYAC Champion Hostos Community College at 5 p.m. in a rematch of last year's title game at BMCC Gymnasium. For more information, visit the
