New York, New York – After averaging 25.5 points per game during the Panther's two wins last week over CUNYAC opponent Laguardia Community College, 92-62, last Tuesday and over the weekend against No. 15 ranked Nassau Community College, 76-63, BMCC men's basketball sophomore Ysaia Marte (Bronx, New York) received CUNYAC Community College Honorable Mention honors for the second consecutive week. Marte racks up his sixth career all-time weekly honor.
The Bronx, New York native continues to light it up on the 2023-24 season, dropping a career-high 31 points on 12-for-15 shooting during the Panthers 92-62 win over CUNYAC Conference opponent Laguardia Community College earlier in the week, then following it up with his fifth career 20-point game with 20 points, 15 of those points coming in the first half against the Lions in Region 15 action over the weekend.
He has scored in double figures in all three games this season and scored 20 or more in two of them. He has 19 double-figure games in his career, and 16 of them have come in his last 19 contests.
Marte currently leads the Panthers in scoring average at 22.7 points per game, which is also tenth in the nation.
He will return to action tomorrow night looking to help the Panthers pick up their third straight victory in CUNYAC play against 2022-23 CUNYAC Community College Basketball Champions Queensborough Community College on Tuesday, November 15 at 7:30 from RFK Gymnasium in Bayside, New York.
