Inquirer is a journal devoted to teaching, learning, and scholarship at BMCC. The editors welcome manuscripts on any number of topics for No. 31, including but not limited to the following:
- Teaching in times of trauma & ethical teaching
- Expanding discussions of equity and inclusion
- Zooming—What works, what doesn’t, how do students experience it.
- The story of on-line teaching: successes, failures, benefits, problems, joys!
- New pedagogies in theory and practice
- Ways to enliven the (on-line) classroom
- Teaching challenges faced and resolved
- Disciplines and skills across the curriculum
- Classroom-based research
- Impacts of syllabus, curriculum, and policy changes
- Teaching globalization and global citizenship
- Teaching sustainability and environmental awareness
- Fiction, poetry, and narratives related to teaching
- Book reviews
Proposals for Teachable Moment Symposia (four or more papers on a shared theme) Send proposals to the editors by February 19, 2024. The deadline for completed manuscripts is April 22, 2024. Authors should aim for a finished manuscript of roughly 2500 words, though the editors will consider longer and shorter submissions. Works in Progress will also be considered. All submissions should be in Microsoft Word, double- spaced and in 12-point font, with text, notes, and references formatted in a recognized style (e.g., APA, MLA, Chicago) or in the conventional style of the author’s discipline.
