Milton, New York – The Borough of Manhattan Community College men's cross country program kicked off their second season at the Mt. St. Mary Knights Invitational on a sloppy Sunday afternoon in Milton, New York. The Panthers men's 8K featured a competitive field of 136 runners from 17 NCAA Division III and two Region 15 and CUNYAC programs.
Panther's sophomore Tatenda Chikanyairo (Fort Lee, New Jersey),the team captain, led all Region 15 runners lacing it up on Sunday, crossing the tape with a personal-best time of 34:30.6 and 43rd place finish. 2022 Region 15 medal winner and classmate Trent Santoro finished with a time of 36:24.6, while freshmen Michael Sing (Brooklyn, New York), Weerlens Valmont and Marcus Nicol followed with times of 43:35.7, 44:00.3, and 46:52.0.
With five runners competing in the race, the BMCC men's program finally got to post a score after it was all settled, finishing 16th with 382 points, beating out three other NCAA Division III programs.
