BMCC and Trinity Washington University Widen Opportunities for Women and Underrepresented Students Through Transfer Partnership
On July 25, BMCC President Anthony E. Munroe and Trinity Washington University (Trinity) President Pat McGuire signed an articulation agreement that will enable BMCC graduates with associate degrees to enter a seamless pathway to baccalaureate programs at Trinity. “Today is historic for both BMCC and Trinity Washington University—two venerable institutions with long-standing commitments to transforming people and communities. BMCC and Trinity prepare leaders, many of whom are Black and Hispanic—and women—to make significant contributions in society,” said President Munroe at the event.
BMCC Supplemental Instruction Program Shows Significant Signs of Success
Academic pass rates for BMCC students enrolled in class sections that participate in the College’s Supplemental Instruction (SI) program were on average higher—86% compared to 70%—than pass rates for class sections that did not participate in the program according to Fall 2022 data from the BMCC Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Analytics. BMCC academic course sections that utilize the SI program also report higher GPAs as well as fewer class withdrawals than matching non-SI sections.
