BMCC and Trinity Washington University Widen Opportunities for Women and Underrepresented Students Through Transfer Partnership
On July 25, BMCC President Anthony E. Munroe and Trinity Washington University (Trinity) President Pat McGuire signed an articulation agreement that will enable BMCC graduates with associate degrees to enter a seamless pathway to baccalaureate programs at Trinity. “Today is historic for both BMCC and Trinity Washington University—two venerable institutions with long-standing commitments to transforming people and communities. BMCC and Trinity prepare leaders, many of whom are Black and Hispanic—and women—to make significant contributions in society,” said President Munroe at the event.

BMCC Supplemental Instruction Program Shows Significant Signs of Success
Academic pass rates for BMCC students enrolled in class sections that participate in the College’s Supplemental Instruction (SI) program were on average higher—86% compared to 70%—than pass rates for class sections that did not participate in the program according to Fall 2022 data from the BMCC Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Analytics. BMCC academic course sections that utilize the SI program also report higher GPAs as well as fewer class withdrawals than matching non-SI sections.

UMLA Honored by CUNY Black Male Initiative
The CUNY Black Male Initiative honored BMCC’s Urban Male Leadership Academy with an award for Exceptional Institutional Commitment. "This award speaks to the strength of BMCC’s leadership, and the brilliance and resilience of UMLA students, mentors and alumni," said Ashtian Holmes, Director of UMLA at BMCC. He thanked the UMLA Team, BMCC President Anthony Munroe, Dean Janice Zummo "and the rest of the BMCC leadership for their extraordinary commitment to the success of our men of color."

Dublin Business Administration Major and Men’s Basketball Player Quran Dublin Signs Professional Contract with TSV Bargteheide BEES in Germany
A BMCC men’s basketball team player will begin his professional sports career after signing on to play for the TSV Bargteheide BEES in Germany. Business Administration major Quran Dublin, one the most decorated players in the College’s history, scored 1,159 points during his BMCC career.

Chorus Community Members Invited to Join BMCC Downtown Chorus and Make Beautiful Choral Music for the 2023-24 Season  
BMCC’s Downtown Chorus is looking for new voices from lower Manhattan and the surrounding community to join a friendly—and varied—group of singers. Singers with all experience levels and all vocal ranges are welcome. The ability to read music is a plus but not a requirement as is prior chorale experience. Members include students, faculty and staff from BMCC, as well as residents and professionals from lower Manhattan and neighboring communities. BMCC Downtown Chorus performs regularly and collaborates with the Downtown Symphony Orchestra, BMCC Concert Choir and College Chorus. Fall 2023: There's Still Time to Register
It is not too late to register for the Fall 2023 semester. Advising sessions are available online or in-person to assist students in registering. During August 14-18, advisement and registration help will be offered via Zoom. From August 21-25, help is available in person.
